25 Days of Christmas

25 Days of Christmas

Day 10

Got to have my favorite niece ans nephew over for the day. My sister had to work so I got the privilage of babysitting them. They are so fun to have over. Drew LOVES Harry Potter so we got to watch Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows Pt 2 the documentary/commentary version. Kenzie just followed Sami everywhere she went, played in the nail polish. It was a good day. That evening we went to church like we like we always do on Saturday night. Ran into and old friend and found out that has been attending for the last few Sattirday nights and plans on turning it into a routine so I told her we'll have to sit together when she comes.

Day 11

This was the day all the kids had been waiting on. We traveled 45 minutes to the other side of Sand Springs to a farm called Peasent Valley. This is wehere we cut our own Christmas Tree. I look forward to this all year. A tradition Ben and I started 5 years ago. The first time we went there was snow on the ground.

And 5 years later.....

They even had Santa there and everyone got a turn to sit on Sant's lap, even Nikki did. It was so cute that everytime Santa thought Everett was done with his list he would go to give him a candy cane Everett would start again with listing what he wanted. Finally I had to just tell him to stop and let someone else take a turn.

It turned out to be a very eventfull day.
Till Tomorrow....

25 Days of Christmas

25 Days of Christmas; Day 4

Here is my feeble attempt to keep up with this blog.
Day 4 and I honestly can't remember what I did except work on my gifts.
Which I did some done and one started.

Day 5

Worked on my gifts, again.

Day 6

I actually did a little baking today. Just made Ben his white chocolate chip cookies.
Went to my grandma's house and picked up some decorations and now my living room looks like it threw up Christmas. Haven't had a chance for the kids to make thier own stocking holders so everything is still in boxes sitting in the middle of the living room.

Day 7

Well not much happened here.
Missed church and heard it was a good one.
Ben didn't get home til 9.

Day 8

Tried to organize the living room today but only got the fireplace somewhat done; can't finish til we get the stocking holders done. Hoping to get it done Friday.
Oh the laundry room threw up again with dirty clothes; I'm just glad I have heavy duty washer/dryer.
Had a hard time with my gift today. But I think I have it worked out.

Till Tomorrow....

25 Days of Christmas

25 Days of Christmas; Day 3

Well it was a very rainy day today, but we still managed to have a quite productive day.
Worked on my gifts, again. Even closer to being done.
Got a game system to trade with Ben's brother at Christmas time.
Got the rest of my Christmas gift projects.
Oh and I saw on Pinterest where someone had decorated their own ornament so we bought some clear glass balls and some glue and glitter and next week I'm gonna have the kids design their own ornament.
this is gonna be fun. And Yes I'll have a post and pics for this.
Got to go to Speedy's for dinner, (stuffed ourselves til we felt like we were gonna be sick) (but it was good). Rented the Smurfs movie, and that was cute too.

Til tomorrow...

25 Days of Christmas

25 Days of Christmas: Day 2

Well not too much actually happened on this day;
I worked on my gifts, very close to being done.
I am very glad that I am not stressing about it this year, usually I am so far behind that I'm freakin out that it's not all done yet, and this year I'm so ahead of myself that I get to do something for myself, like this "December Daily". I am going to attempt to work on that book this week. Quite excited!!
Nikki ended up going to dinner and a movie with some girlfriends but ened up home early cuz dinner and the movie sucked.
We had ordered pizza and rented The Zookeeper. Very cute movie.
Then when Ninni got home, me, Ben and her just sat up talkin for a few. I love that we can have a nice conversation with our children. It gives them that sense of trust that they can tell us anything.

Til tomorrow...

25 Days of Christmas

This year I am doing a "December Daily". For those of you who doesn't know what that is, its a mini album for everyday in December. Thought I would start here.

So today, "Day 1", I worked on some christmas gifts,

And then we went to Samantha & Jeremy's orchestra concert tonight.

Came home to watch my 17 year old play my 7 year old as if she was 7 years old herself. I love watchin my children grow and interact with each other as if they have been best friends thier whole lives.
Well this puts an end to "Day 1" of my "25 Days of Christmas". Til tomorrow.

Friends

Whatever happened to the meaning of "Best Friends Forever"? And now you've got "Very Best Friend". You that old saying "bros before hoes" or "pals before gals" or "girlfriends before boyfriends", when did that lose meaning? There's a quote that reads " true friend can go months without talking and then pick up where they left off like it was yesterday". I like the one that reads "a true friend doesn't care if your broke, or if your house is a mess or about your past, they love you anyway". I think some forgot the true meaning to friendship and began to see it as a competition.
I always thought that your faults is what made you who you are; by identifying them and excepting them and trying to change them but your VBFF loved those little quirts about you.
I never saw myself as a judging person buy apparently some did. I may point out what your doing wrong but I thought I was trying to help you get on the right path,  trying to be there for you and help you in your time of need. Maybe I am coming across as being judgmental, I'm sorry if I am.
You know everyone has a little crazy in there family; some more tan others; but i didn't know that was grounds to not associate with EVERYONE. I mean, come on, I don't like them anymore than you do but really! But that was not my fault. And as it stands now, I'm not worrying about the crazies in my family, why should you?!
I just pray that not only the Lord brings godly friends to my children but to me as well.

Happy Birthday, Samantha Lynn Perez!!

My Dearest Samantha,
Here you are on your 13th birthday. Turning into a beautiful young lady. I am so happy to be your mother, your guidance, your friend. It pleases me to know how grateful your are, how caring you are, how considerate you are. I sit here trying to remember my most favorite memory of you when you were little and so many come to mind that I can't just pick one. I remember you putting yourself under a toy car and asking for a "driver". I remember you watching "Superstar" so many times that when you got mad at me you would run to your room and slam the door and reopen it and yell "your horrible". I can"t wait to have more favorite memories.
I'm looking forward see how the rest of your newly found teenage life turns out. Just know that I am always here for you and will never leave your side.
     I love you so much.
     Your mom

My Son The Natural

I have been without a washer since last Thursday. Summin about the board not communicating with the brain so anyway I am waiting for the part to com in from the factory so the repair guy can install it (yes its under warrenty, thank goodness). So iave been going to my sister's house to do a couple of loads everyday since Sunday. Well today, she had to go babysit her VBF's kids so she invited me over there and to keep her company.

When the 3 year old twins woke up, Isaak stepped up and intantly took over. He was carrying Hosea to the couch and holding him cuz he wasn't completly woke up from his nap. And then played outside with them. Right before dinner he was holding both of them playing Yahtzee.

then they decide they want their hand traced.
Then of course Micah wants his traced.

So here you go parents, your next great babysitter. Good job Isaak!!

Watch Out On The road

Nikki officially got her drivers licence today. She has already been out driving around on her own: Went to her grandma's house to swim in the neighborhood pool with her aunt and uncle and her siblings and baby cousin. Then to her BFF's house to visit for a few. She gets to drive herself to work tomorrow which is nothing out of the ordinary there but this time it's not just thru the neighborhood, she has to drive on the main street. She is at QuikTrip on 71st & Yale if anyone wants to go by and say "Hi".
Her dad and I are very proud of her, she is becoming a very responsible young woman.
We love You, Nikki!!!
